To preserve the highest Sikh tenets in sports, the Khalsa Football Club (Khalsa FC), a registered non-profit sports organization, is promoting and popularizing football among the youth for retaining their identity as Keshadhari (unshorn hair and beards) Sikhs. In addition to this, Khalsa FC in association with Global Sikh Sports Federation (GSSF) will promote and popularize Sikh games and other popular games among the Sikhs.
The supreme aim of the GSSF and Khalsa FC is to 'Promote Sikhi Saroop In Sports'. Besides, social campaign to sustain 'Save Water' & 'Plant Trees' will be consistently supported through football.
The Khalsa FC is affiliated with Punjab Football Association (PFA) and the GSSF will be associated with other state level sports associations representing different games.
Aiming to achieve its aims and objectives, the GSSF and Khalsa FC is going to organize Sikh Football Cup for Keshadhari players in the state of Punjab. It will be an annual event.
Dedicated to 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib, the 1st Sikh Football Cup will be held from November 23 to December 7, 2019 under FIFA rules in various districts.
To fulfill its mission, the GSSF is planning to establish a state-of-the-art Sikh Sports Centre (SSC) having a Recreation Centre (RC) and an ultra-modern indoor stadium housing multi-sports facilities. The SSC will provide services of well qualified and expert coaches for different games to prepare the Sikh players for international competitions.
Further, short term certificate course for coaches and trainers will also be launched in this SSC to enhance their sporting skills and updating knowledge.
